WELCOME
I’m a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist working in London, Hertfordshire and online, helping people to manage and overcome mental health challenges. I am accredited by BABCP (British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies).
Meeting the challenges of life – perhaps within the family or relationships, in school or the workplace, or through parenting, loss or trauma – can sometimes be emotionally overwhelming. We may experience this as a major change, or we may have been struggling for much of our lives. Our emotional distress may be experienced as anxiety, depression or other suffering which can greatly undermine our ability to cope and to enjoy life.
CBT is a very practical way to help people overcome these challenges. Whilst sessions look to the past, they are largely focussed on helping people manage and resolve their problems where they experience them - here and now. CBT is based on long-term well-researched science and has been shown to be effective in controlled clinical trials. As the ‘talking therapy’ of preference recommended by the National Institute of Care and Health Excellence (NICE) for most emotional disorders, it has been shown to be effective in the treatment of a wide variety of emotional difficulties, including:
-
Depression
